Media Release: Slice Media now lets subscribers add past news clips

Slice Media today launched a DIY tool enabling it's subscribers to add news clips from the past 30 days into their Slice tracking folders.

Active Slice subscribers will be able to add clips to their existing tracking folders, or create new tracking folders and add clips to this folder.

General manager Kylie Lewis said "This is a terrific enhancement for our subscribers, which gives them even greater control over their monitoring requirements. Subscribers can help themselves to past clips, reducing their costs and time wasted on finding clips. Giving our subscribers tools to help themselves is a win win, because it also keeps our servicing costs down, securing Slice as the most cost effective monitoring solution in the Australian and New Zealand market."

For more information about adding past clips, visit the blogpost on the topic here.

Media Release: Fresh, low-cost media monitoring service launched for New Zealand businesses (Slice Media)

Monitoring the media became a whole lot more accessible for New Zealand businesses today with the launch of SLICE MEDIA - New Zealand's first 'fat-free', web-based media monitoring service (www.slicemedia.com).

Slice provides a fresh approach to traditional media monitoring services, allowing customers to manage their own requirements via the web. Subscribers simply sign-up online and specify their media monitoring requirements. News items are matched to the subscriber's criteria and these 'slices' are digitally delivered straight into the subscriber's online account.

Slice continuously tracks an extensive range of over 2,600 New Zealand and Australian press, television, radio and Internet news sources making it one of the most comprehensive, professional services available in the region.

Unlike other media monitoring providers, Slice has no long term contracts and no retainers. Subscribers can choose between four packages sizes, with prices starting from around $70 per month (ex gst).

Slice is perfectly suited to businesses who have lean marketing budgets and who want to be in control of their monitoring requirements and spend.

General manager Kylie Lewis said "Slice fills the gap for small to medium business in need of a low cost media monitoring service. Slice represents a great opportunity for organisations with simple tracking needs, who may otherwise be excluded from the market."

As Ms Lewis explains, "Subscribers are in complete control - they can change their tracking criteria at any time online to make their coverage as specific or general as they like. It's a simple, accurate and economical solution that hundreds of Australian businesses are already benefiting from."

Slice provides a free tour of the service and a free media monitoring trial for New Zealand businesses wanting for more information.

ADDING INTERNET MONITORING GIVES SLICE A WORLD FIRST

Australia's freshest and most affordable media monitoring service, Slice Media (www.slicemedia.com.au) has today added internet monitoring to its media tracking repertoire, making Slice the first DIY media monitoring company globally to enable businesses to track their press, broadcast and internet news through a single login.

Top internet news sites and influential blogs from Australia and New Zealand have been added to the current 2000+ press and broadcast outlets, with monitoring services still starting at $195 (ex GST) for up to 90 days tracking.

According to general manager, Kylie Lewis Slice Media is a one-stop-shop for Australian businesses in satisfying their media monitoring needs. Subscribers use their single login to access their specific news from newspapers, magazines, radio, television and now online information sources.

"Businesses can no longer have to waste time and money trawling around the web or dealing with inaccurate, untimely alerts to cut straight to their news," she said.

"Companies who have never used monitoring before are now accessing our service, and people who used to monitor only infrequently, now can afford to have on-going monitoring. Subscribers can also 'dip' into the service for a specific campaign, without getting tangled up in long term contracts.

"Slice has changed the landscape of accessing media information for Australian businesses - big or small," she said.

Slice Media is a unique media tracking service because it is a DIY model, where subscribers are in complete control of their own accounts.

Subscribers set up their individual requirements at anytime via the website, managing their clips in the best way for their own needs, and are not locked into any long term contracts. Slice Media also offers email alerting of the latest news items received into a subscriber's account.

The easy to follow steps from Slice allow businesses to keep track of what is being said about them, their competitors and relevant industry issues.

Slice Media is part of the Media Monitors Group (www.mediamonitors.com.au). Media Monitors is a world leader in media information services and the leading media monitoring group in Australasia. New slice package keeps boutique businesses in mind

Slice Media (www.slicemedia.com.au), the DIY media monitoring service has introduced a new 'Taste' package designed especially for those looking for a smaller more economical option or for those who haven't been able to afford monitoring before.

According to Slice Media's General Manager Kylie Lewis, the new service can significantly reduce the cost of media monitoring.

"For the first time ever, SMEs can now afford to monitor their business in the media with the introduction of a monitoring package that costs only $195 per quarter.

"We estimate that an average sized consultancy which monitors the media itself spends at least $650 per month to monitor a limited number of Australian publications (based on a marketing assistant on $50,000 doing five hours of monitoring and one hour of cutting, scanning, distributing per week)," Ms Lewis said.

"Our packages start at less that $100 per month for digital clips and broadcast summaries covering 1,600 press and 500 broadcast outlets throughout Australia and NZ which means no more scissors, no more glue, no more scanning and a potential saving of 85 per cent," she said.

The web-based media monitoring service is self-administered by subscribers who set up search strings and tracking folders which automatically track any articles appearing for the selected keywords from more than 2,000 media outlets across print, radio and television. News items are then digitally delivered straight into the subscriber's online account.

"The feedback we've received from customers is that some are looking for an entry level service. The new package called 'Taste' offers customers five tracking folders and 25 news items within 90 days. It is a perfect option for small businesses wanting to track articles on their own organisation or for boutique public relations or marketing agencies who want to control and track articles for clients or their competitors," Ms Lewis said.

"Slice is an efficient, low cost, optional term media tracking service that provides actual press clippings and broadcast summaries delivered to the client's desktop - a much faster and more convenient way than receiving publications through the mail and trawling through these themselves.

"Often subscribers are surprised by the reach some of their campaigns receive. They would have never discovered this without using a professional monitoring service like Slice," she added.

There are four subscription packages available to cater to different media tracking needs. For more information visit www.slicemedia.com.au.

Slice Media is owned by Media Monitors, a world leader in media information services and the leading media monitoring group in Australia and New Zealand. The company currently has over 4,000 clients in both the corporate and government sectors.

Media Release: Slice Media helps SMEs cut through to the news

Up until now, media monitoring services have been out of the reach of most small and medium businesses on the grounds of cost and accessibility.

That's now changed with the introduction of a new service by industry leader Media Monitors, which allows companies to easily track media coverage about their own organisation and their competitors online.

Media Monitors has completed a successful trial of its new media tracking service Slice Media, which allows organisations to track media coverage about topics of interest in Australian and New Zealand media outlets.

"The trial went exceptionally well and as a result we will roll out the service without delay," said John Croll, CEO of Media Monitors.

"The overwhelming response has shown that the SME market has wanted an efficient, low cost, optional term media tracking service that provides actual press clippings and broadcast summaries delivered to the client's desktop," he said.

The web-based media tracking service is self-administered by subscribers who set up search strings and tracking folders which automatically track any articles appearing for the selected keywords from more than 2,000 media outlets across print, radio and television. News items are then digitally delivered straight into the subscriber's online account.

Sonja Bruss from Brisbane's Skydive Ramblers employed the services of Slice media to track media coverage for a special 'Sky Symposium' event held by the company.

"Slice was suggested to us as an economical alternative to other large media monitoring services. We used it for the duration of the event and received clippings from publications we never would have known about such as interstate suburban newspapers," Sonja said.

"We found it really useful that Slice not only tracks print, but also broadcast media so that you can order radio transcripts and video clippings. It is ideal for any organisation that is holding a special event and wants to accurately track media coverage," she said.

Jessica Ford from Fordcomm, a medium-sized public relations consultancy, has been using Slice Media as a service for clients since March.

"We use Slice to track articles that specifically refer to clients and topical issues relevant to their industries," Jessica said.

"We chose Slice Media over another media monitoring service because it's easy to use and gives us control over what is tracked and for how long. It is also cheaper, faster and more convenient than receiving regional subscriptions to newspapers and other publications through the mail," she said.

The Queensland chapter of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) subscribed to Slice Media after using a local service but found that as the AMA grew there was a need to respond to issues more quickly, says Kate Vanpoelgeest, Manager of Media and Public Relations at AMA.

"The big benefit of Slice as a lower-cost media tracking service is that it also tracks broadcast coverage. This means that we're immediately aware of issues reported in the media and can respond promptly," Kate said.

There are three subscription packages available to cater to different media tracking needs. For more information visit www.slicemedia.com.au.

Media tracking by the Slice

Tracking the media became a whole lot more accessible today with the launch of SLICE - Australia’s first low cost, web-based media tracking service http://slicemedia.com.au.

As part of the growing stable of digital assets developed by Media Monitors, CEO John Croll said “Slice fills the gap for small to medium business in need of a low cost media tracking service. Slice represents a great opportunity for SMEs with simple tracking needs, who may otherwise be excluded from the market.”

Slice is simple, accurate and economical. Mr Croll explains, “Subscribers simply log-on, enter their keywords and tracking criteria, and Slice goes straight to work for them.”

Slice continuously tracks an extensive range of Australian press, television and radio media, and New Zealand television and radio media. News items are matched to subscriber criteria and these ‘slices’ are digitally delivered straight into the subscriber’s online account.

As Mr Croll explains, “Subscribers are in complete control - they can change their tracking criteria at any time online to make their coverage as specific or general as they like.”

Slice is geared specifically for Australian businesses. “Unlike other online providers, we track Australian press AND broadcast, and provide the information in a useful format that can be organised according to the individual’s specific requirements” added Mr Croll.

Regional businesses, boutique PR agencies, charities and independent operators will now be able to get online and track the issues that matter to them. Organisations with single issues, or who are event-driven will also benefit from the Slice solution.
